Angela Rangel

she/her

Angela Rangel was born and raised in Wichita, KS. She earned her BFA in Ceramics at Wichita State University in 2019. During her time as an undergraduate, she was granted and pursued several artistic endeavors. She was acting president of the WSU Ceramics Guild for two years and collaborated with the Ulrich Museum of Art and WSU ADCI to raise over $50,000 for the Kansas Food Bank through Empty Bowls Wichita. In addition, she received a scholarship to attend a workshop at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village, CO, an assistantship at Northern Clay Center in Minneapolis, MN and attended 3 NCECA’s in Kansas City, MO, Portland, OR and Minneapolis, MN. After graduating, she returned to Minneapolis, MN for a summer instructor position and then spent the fall in Gatlinburg, TN for a work-study position at Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts. Currently, she is based in Wichita, KS and leads the Youth Ceramics program at CityArts as well as a position in arts administration. Outside of her workplace, Rangel has continued her artistic practice through local programs such as: OpenStudios ICT & has facilitated art markets for local POC creatives.
