Angela Rangel

she/her

Angela Rangel was born and raised in Wichita, KS. She earned her BFA in Ceramics at Wichita State University in 2019. During her time as an undergraduate, she was granted and pursued several artistic endeavors. She was acting president of the WSU Ceramics Guild for two years and collaborated with the Ulrich Museum of Art and WSU ADCI to raise over $50,000 for the Kansas Food Bank through Empty Bowls Wichita. In addition, she received a scholarship to attend a workshop at Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass Village, CO, an assistantship at Northern Clay Center in Minneapolis, MN and attended 3 NCECA’s in Kansas City, MO, Portland, OR and Minneapolis, MN. Since graduating, she has spent time learning & teaching at Northern Clay Center and Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts. In 2021, she moved to Kansas City, MO to begin a position at Mattie Rhodes Art Center as Art Center Coordinator where she developed ceramics curriculum for their after-school arts program & curated 2 Annual Children's Exhibitions featuring artwork created during the program. Currently, she works as a Teaching Artist at the Ford Learning Center at Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. She also is a studio artist & instructor at Cherry Pit Collective. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her cats, picnicking at Loose Park & thrifting with an iced coffee.
